Today, I’m so pleased and humbled to be featured in Chapter 16 (which is the online journal for books, writers, and everything Tennessee) with the likes of Melissa Range and Wyatt Prunty (poets I met at Sewanee), Bill Brown and Georganne Harmon (whom I was lucky enough to have as teachers in high school), Jeff Daniel Marion (whom I’ve never met but only seen and heard at the Southern Book Festival and who is the original Tennessee-Michigan hybrid poet) and of course, Charlotte Pence (regular Chapter 16 contributor and brilliant, award-winning poet). Thanks so much to editor Margaret Renkl for this opportunity!

Joe Hall says things about my book
For those of you who don’t know this face…
…you need to get to a city where Joe is reading his poems RIGHT NOW!
His first book Pigafetta Is My Wife is a brilliant blend of language from a 16th century diary and the author’s own words to his girlfriend who lives across the country. That girlfriend also inspired Joe’s DC reading series–Cheryl’s Gone–and is, along with Joe, another person way more talented than me.
My copy of Joe’s second book hasn’t arrived yet. But I’m sure it’ll be just as good as the first, and in that way that makes one wonder why the hell one bothers to write poetry when other people are just so crazy better at it.
Anyway, Joe was kind enough to review my chapbook on his blog. John Donne is mentioned. And Joe’s hatred of flying. It’s a good time.
